I met Jeff and the staff from A-1 Marine . several years ago when my boat interior was destroyed in a hail storm.they gave me a quote for complete interior.my boat is a 96 Glastron 21 foot V Hull they replaced the carpet and all interior side panel seats foam wood .job was done in a timely and professional manner my boat look brand new again. I dropped off my 1991 19ft Bayliner outboard motor with A1-Marine on 09-26-16 (Monday) at around 10am. Upon arrival the staff was quick to respond and appeared to be laid back, polite, didnt beat around the bush. I brought in my boat which was just recently purchased. The reason for bringing in the boat was simple. The previous owner had placed a 70hp motor on the back of the boat but had failed to install it correctly. After speaking with the two gentleman at A1 they informed me it would run about $250 for them to check out the motor and find out what needs to be done to get it running. After signing some forms i decoupled the trailer from the jeep and left it with them. I then called on 09-27-16 (Tuesday) at 11am and asked about the status of the motor. It was at this time that i was informed it could be a few days before it would be checked out. I was reassured that the mechanics would reach out to me once they completed their diagnostics. On (Thursday) 09-29-16 I received a call from them informing me that they would need to put over a thousand into the motor just to see if it would work. They informed me that it appeared the motor was submerged at one point. At this point they informed me that it would probably be a good idea to get another used motor. I was then referred to John Shaban who sells and installs outboard motors for a reasonable price. I ended up purchasing a 75hp Force motor for 2200 which included the installation fee. Overall they had wonderful customer service and i plan on taking my boat back to them in the future for maintenance.
